Background
Dr. Gitanjali Sen is a PhD in Economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia, USA, with particular focus in Development Economics. Her skill set includes application of statistical and econometric tools in the areas of development economics using statistical packages, such as SAS, STATA, SPSS; evaluation of development programs, reforms in education, child labor, and state level initiatives towards reform in India.
Her career in India started in January, 2004. It includes teaching at a postgraduate management Institution in Bangalore for a short stint and then moving to a business consultancy firm. The latter being involved in e-governance projects, she had the experience of working towards socio-economic impact evaluation of projects and evaluation of public policy using econometric tools, in collaboration with the faculties form the Poverty Action Lab of MIT, USA.
Presently
Currently she is working on two projects. The first one with Dr. S Narayan and Dr. Razeen Sally, studying the impact of economic reform on international trade; and the second one is with Dr. Rakesh Basant on the affirmative action in Higher Education in India.
